Feeble Folks at Concerts - Nigga Pleaze
Below is a cut and paste of an argument that is ongoing on the Poison bulletin board. It is a perfect example of the kind of ignorant people that go to concerts. Example: the pregnant 13 year old at Sky Jam in 1999 that got knocked over by a policeman who was running to help a fellow officer who was being assaulted. Her Dad (all of 25 yrs old or so) was whining that his pregnant daughter got knocked over and his beer got spilled. When the police finally came to talk to the angry bunch, they said your health can be jeopardized at public events and if you're worried about your pregnancy, you shouldn't have gone. Nuff said...this just really pisses me off!

So, Tonya24... Because it's a Rock Concert we should expect to be injured ? There was also a pregnant woman next to us that was pushed to the ground. She was scared to death & couldn't get out of the Pit. I guess if she were to lose her baby that would be okay because after all "It is a Rock Concert".... ???

I have been going to Rock Concerts for 20+ years now & have seen it all.. You don't tell a crowd to rush the stage when they have been drinking since early afternoon. Even Bret should be smart enough to know that by now.

Hey genius, you already posted this comment on the other thread and as much as I hate to agree with anything Tonya says, I back her statement up 100%! So fuThe sky is blue.
The sea is big.
The Pope is Catholic.
People get hurt at concerts.
A rock concert is NO place for a pregnant (responsible) woman. Get a clue.

I would never wish a woman losing her baby on anyone, first off. But, it is STUPID AS F*CK for a pregnant woman to be at a rock concert and especially AT THE FRONT where everyone wants to be. I would also not wish injury on anyone going to a rock show, but it comes with the territory. You go to a rock show, you can expect to get pushed, shoved, groped and all that other good stuff. Bret has been doing this for many many years and to my knowledge, there has never been serious injuries. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the pit. Sorry, but that's the way it goes.

You two can't honestly be serious - especially Tonya here, you are saying if you are pregnant or anything of the matter you should realise going to a rock concert there is a chance of getting hurt?! WTF?

There is a difference of being pregnant of say 3 months then also being there a few weeks from giving birth. IF it is a seated pit which I am assuming it once since he called them up further than anyone has the right and should expect not to be trampled PERIOD since the venue is seated pit included.

Seriously get a clue, what happened ISN'T common at a show, common if you are going to a band and pit area with no seating and general admission simply then yes you should be expecting body surfing and the like but you are WAY out of line on this one

I beg to differ with you. Every rock concert I have been to tends to get rowdy such as the case with this one. I can just say that if I were pregnant, my ass would not be up in front of the stage jeopardizing the life of my child. Same reason I don't take my 6 year old to shows. You NEVER know what could happen. People drink and you can not always predict what people will do in an intoxicated state. Sh*t, you can't always predict what a stone cold sober Poison fanatic would do when they hit the stage. My opinion. I am not saying that it is RIGHT to trample people, but I am saying that it is common.

Vio69.. Thank God there's someone on this board with some common sense. And, yes... the Pit is a seated area that is supposed to be a controlled environment with security at each entrance point. That is why I bought these seats & the same reason the pregnant woman seated next to me bought them. I have been to every possible type of Rock Concert at the Woodland Pavillion & have never experienced what I did during this particular show. The woman was 4 months pregnant & her husband paid nearly $500 for these seats as a birthday gift to her. He also stated that he had no problem shelling out the money because he had sat in the Pit many times & had never had a problem. Thus, he thought this would be a protected area for his wife as did I.... Everyone has the right to see any band that they are a fan of without having to worry about being hurt. The band has a responsibility to their fans that are paying big money to see them.

Get a clue Tonya24.. Rock Concerts ARE NOT just for drunk losers.

At rock concerts, anything can happen. Even if Bret hadn't said to come to the front of the stage, you can bet your ass that people would rush to the front of the stage anyway.

And Rockettgod-the Pope is Catholic?!?!?!WHAT!!!!I didn't know that!!!!!

Then I feel sorry for you that all the shows you go to are rowdy. You have no clue if the pregnant lady was even in the first 10 rows, calling rows of people down to the stage can cause mass hysteria and no that is not normal at all. I have been in the pit of well over 50 plus shows and besides the general admission shows sure you can expect a bump or two or whatever but not being knocked down and trampled on at all.

Sorry, but I also have to agree with Tonya. I, too, do not wish bodily harm on anyone, but it is a rock show, fans do get rowdy. I was at the Vegas show, right up front...yes, it was general admission, so it's a bit different, but I knew full well what I was getting into when I planted myself in front of the barricade. I was battered and bruised the next day, but it was worth it...and I got some killer pics as a result. Dallas in 2001...I was on the very front row, in the SEATED section...it was not general admission. Bret did the same, and I wound up with some chick humping my ass and moaning Bret's name for the rest of the night. Not my idea of a good time, but I dealt with it...I was there to see Poison, and they put on a great show, so I was happy. I don't know...my point is...know what you're getting into. A seated area at a rock show don't mean @#%$...I've heard of Pantera shows where there were seats zip tied together...needless to say, the seats went bye-bye in a big hurry. I would never even DARE getting in the front at a show like Pantera, or even Offspring for that matter. I absolutely LOVE Offspring, but you won't catch my ass in the pit for anything, because I know there will be moshing & I'd get squashed...I can survive a Poison show, but generally there's no moshing. Pushing and shoving, yes, but no moshing. However, I personally wouldn't be up there if I was pregnant, because I know how the shows are. Sorry, this all may come across harsh, and I don't want to piss anybody off or offend anyone...but that's how it is.

If you read the very first post in its entirety then you would know that the woman was within the first SIX ROWS!

You can say what you want, but rock concerts get rowdy. ANY rock concert can get that way. Go do a search and you can pull up hundreds of news reports on incidents that have happened. Like I said before, its not right, but it happens and you should be prepared for it.

Vio69: We are obviously wasting our time. These people have no clue much less any compassion for others. I just hope the poor woman sitting next to me & her baby are okay or I bet Bret & the pavillion both will be hearing from a lawyer soon.. I know my expected recovery from my surgery will be much longer thanks to those stupid drunken fools diving over the walls into the Pit courtesy of Mr. Bret Michaels.

I also have to ask this...What other "rock" shows have you been going to?? You also must keep in mind that different rock bands draw different crowds. The Cure crowd is very tame...that was probably the tamest concert I've ever been to. But Poison is a "party" band, and they like to instill that "party" environment...drink & have nothin' but a good f*ckin' time.

But why do I even try to defend them over here anymore anyway??? This board has turned into nothing more than a b*tch and moan fest anyway, and I'm fed up.

Oh, I have compassion. I also have enough sense in my head that I would not seat myself directly in front of the stage while pregnant and/or recovering from surgery at a fuckin ROCK CONCERT!

P.S. I don't get the whole Radiohead thing either
How come they're "brilliant". The record industry's manipulation of what's hot and what's not has gotten really out of hand. (or maybe it has always been like this and I'm just getting old)

Good Charlotte Suck
If I hear "girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money" one more time I'm going to vomit profusely on my television. That song is this generation's "Unskinny Bop". I guess it is my own fault for having it on MTV, but at this hour there is nothing but commercials and Robert Tilton on. Robert is entertaining *ONLY* if you have a friend to watch him with so you can laugh, otherwise you realize how evil he really is. The other day Sean said that that watching Robert Tilton caused him to lose faith within an hour.
